Yeah, I just meant for it to be on the screen while you are actually exploring the world. No reason for it to be on every screen. (smiley) I do kinda like the mouse-over idea. That would probably be a lot easier, a**uming it would update each time you advanced the quest a little bit, meaning if you had to kill 50 npcs, each time you killed one it would automatically update so you know exactly how many you've killed at any given time.

On a side note, CK mentioned that the Space Salt would be available at a vendor in case someone deleted it, what about the other quest won items that could be used later in a different quest? Such as the Faulty Communicator or the Laser Pistol? If someone were to delete those items because they were just taking up space in their backpack then they wouldn't be able to do the additional quests. Would those items be available through a vendor also?

I've seen some games that if you were to lose an item like this then you could go back to the npc that you first got it from and after berating you for losing it they would go ahead and give you another one. Would that be possible?

I think that would be just about doable. Whenever:

- an item is dropped
- a kill task is incremented
- a new quest is accepted
- a quest is turned in (completed)

We could update it. Actually, technically speaking, it should update any time a task is incremented, not just kill tasks. The only special exception that needs a workaround is the item collecting stuff, as its task isn't incremented, it's just enumerated on-the-fly, from your backpack contents.

I'll think about it, and see what the most efficient, low overhead way to do this is.

There seems to be some wonkiness with the plasma vials.

Ok, first of all,  you have to leave and come back in order to get the monk to offer you the quest a second time.  No big deal, but I wasn't even sure if it was set to repeatable.

I turned it in once yesterday and once today.

According to the vendor, I've purchased 14 empty vials, though I'm not sure I actually purchased that much...  (There actually seems to be another issue there.  It shows that I purchased 4 control chips, but I know I only purchased one)  I thought I bought 8 total though, so maybe you can check your log and see...

I only have one in my pack, and one plasma vial (I turned in the one I got yesterday).

Perhaps the quest rewards could be more explicit in the quest log? A lot of the time I'm not sure what I've received, so it's presumably money, but it does seem to make it so that I'm doing quests randomly without any good idea what I'm going to be receiving for my hard work.
If I were a new player, I think having a better idea of the reward would be useful

I believe both of these are noted in the first reply to this thread.  Right now, it looks as though there is no money/exp reward, but there will be, and I think the plan is to include it in both the quest log and the start/finish screens. (smiley)
