Summary0000058: Finish Mining Profession
DescriptionThe Mining Profession is already partially implemented.
It should work in the following way:

- Equip Mining Items
- Find Place to mine (mining resource node)
- Click button to begin mining (costs turns)
- Wait to find out whether you retrieved something.
- If something was found, grant skill exp if applicable.
- Increment mine counter on the resource node. When limit exceeded, take node off-line until it replenishes (as determined by skill_ore table)

I have a concern. I do not want a single player to use up the resource node.

Perhaps there should be an imposed time limit per node, to give others a chance?

Also, the difficulty of the resource node should determine the turn cost.

Maybe output a message such as "Sorry, the maximum amount of (mining resource) was mined by you today. Come back after 0:00 server time for more!"

You just have to come up with a suitable allowed percentage. If you have x mining nodes with y units of mining resource each, you'd then allow a player to mine a maximum of x * y / c mining resource per day. Where 'c' would have to be a 'reasonable constant' :)

In 3D games, the nodes are respawning at various different rates.

You have to seek out a node that still has ore and mine it.
It usually lasts a few tries then runs out.

When it runs out, nobody can use it any more.
This is the way mining works in FutureRP at the moment, but I think it is not compatible with the game format.

Many people can access the same position at once, so there would be too much demand and not enough supply.

As you said, there has to be a way to limit the consumption of an individual player so that others can get some ore before the node runs out.

This missed the deadline. It might was well be diverted to the next release.
